Memorandum and the Vision for Proposed Library 2004

While plans for Building III continue, the question over including a new library in the plans for Building III is raised again. Proponents argue a new library would not only serve USG students, but it would also serve as a valuable and needed inclusion to the existing library systems of the area, further adding that it would give Montgomery County a university level library. “The proposed creation of an Education Resource Center at the Universities of Maryland Shady Grove offers us an opportunity to create a university level library at UMSG for not only the graduate and undergraduate students in the programs but also for the residents of Montgomery County.” (p.3)
