•Eugene Hallman • Nov. 12, 1930 - June 25, 2008 • Private 2nd class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War

•Upton Hallman • 1908-1984 • Korean War Veteran

•Melvin Hallman • April 11th, 1933 – Jan. 28th, 1997 • Korean War Veteran

As did many African Americans in Montgomery County, the descendants of Samuel and Evelyn Hallman served in the United States armed forces. Their son Thompkins Hallman is a current trustee and a veteran that served in New Guinea during World War II.
