Dead Man Inc.

Dead Man Inc. formulated in the Maryland Correctional System in the late 1990’s, early 2000’s. Dead Man Inc., or DMI, was founded when several white inmates unifi­ed. The gang believes in power in numbers. It has close associations with the Black Guerilla Family (prison gang) inside correctional facilities; however, the gang is now known for accepting murder and assault contracts from various gangs and individuals both inside and outside the penal systems. Their colors are primarily black and white.

Maple Ave Crew

Maple Avenue Crew (MAC) formulated in the early 1990’s in Silver Spring/Takoma Park. The gang was formed based on community or neighborhood ties between individuals involved in criminal activity. Members and associates have been criminally active within Montgomery County, primarily in Takoma Park, since the group’s inception.

Vatos Locos

The Vatos Locos are believed to have been founded in L.A. in the 1940’s. Though the history of the Vatos Locos is a bit muddled, the gang is believed to have inspired the movie, ‘Blood In, Blood Out.” The Vatos Locos are a Hispanic street gang with a prison presence in California. They have expanded to several other states as well. While their presence is not particularly strong in the DMV area, there have been members identi­ed in the area. The gang primarily identi­es with the color black.
